Software Dev Engineer

Engineers on this team have an end-to-end ownership of our systems. They work on a diverse range of technologies from BigData, EMR, Machine Learning , AWS and Web Development. While the problems we solve are unique to the voice industry, the learnings are relevant across multiple industries. Engineers on this team are expected to invent solutions. They spend time in ensuring that the applications we develop scale for a very high level of traffic (e.g. all users of Alexa Skills across the earth). Engineers have opportunities that allow then expand their skillsets in technological areas. We are always pushing the boundaries for ourselves and what we can achieve for our customers. A day in the lifeOn a daily basis, engineers on the team work on activities such as design , code , code reviews, testing and deployment. Engineers get to participate in design reviews and understand work happening acrosss the org. They spend time building new systems, improving existing systems, debugging and troubleshooting issues and collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders on the team.

The teams mission is to make Alexa Skils a pleasant experience for Alexa customers by building software that monitors undesirable experiences. We use a combination of software engineering, BigData processing and machine learning at scale. We also develop software that makes our partner teams efficient in understanding and resolving issues with Alexa skills

The team uses various content classification and machine learning algorithms for solving complex business challenges. The ADECT team also works with the content operations team to build tech platform that simplifies and automates complex Skill Monitoring process to ensure the sanity of Alexa Skill catalog. We are looking for Software Dev Engineers who have the passion to tackle tough problems by bringing cutting edge technologies to Alexa customers.

- 2 years of non-internship professional software development experience-
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design- - 1 years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. Preferred qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 3 years of equivalent professional or military experience-
- Experience with front end technologies such as Node, React , JavaScript, Angular , Bootstrap is preferred.
