Software Development Manager

Company AIM Engineering is looking for an experienced software development leader to work with a world-class multidisciplinary team to develop and deploy scalable software for diverse industrial applications in the energy markets. Overview 10 years experience managing software development teams to deliver on-premises and cloud web and mobile business applications Ability to hire, mentor, develop, and mange a high performing development and operations team Experience working with teams that use Organizationern agile methodologies to deliver frequent value to customers and embrace continuous integration/deployment 10 years of experience building and operating cloud-based application with web and mobile interface that is used for critical business functions. Experience in developing web applications for cross browser compatibility and mobile applications for breadth of device Manage a team of engineers to deliver industry leading software on schedule and within/under budget. Tasks include mentoring, career development, performance reviews, and hiring Manage and prioritize a backlog of features for the software team members to meet the market requirements gathered by product management. Work with QA and documentation to ready the product for delivery. Companyft user stories for development with detailed requirements and acceptance criteria Breadth and depth in key technologies cloud computing, web architecture, multi-tenant design patterns, object-oriented concepts, full stack development, Ui/UX best practices, agile methodologies, continuous integration and continuous deployment, automated QA, managed software operations, C++/C#/JavaScript/HTML5

Responsibilities

Prioritize and deliver on fixes to customer related issues. We have a long record of high-level of customer satisfaction with the software functionality and with our managed service Be a technology visionary that researches and evaluates up and coming technologies that will allow us to innovate in the existing portfolio of products and to create new offerings to meet business needs Use your experience and knowledge to provide architectural and design input during implementation of new features and during rearchitecting of existing functionality Own the operations of the managed software offering that is currently hosted in our internal data canter. This includes infrastructure operations and upgrades, adding new customers, upgrading to latest versions of our product, applying a required patchy, system sizing and growth, backup, and disaster recovery. Engage with customers to validate proposed features and to define the product before starting with development. Develop detailed functional and design specifications as required. Manage relationships with external vendors of the tools and software components that are used by the team and embedded in the product Own the operational systems used by development, including defect tracking system, source control system, etc. Work with corporate IT to resolve IT issues at the Santa Clara office and for any planned upgrades Roll up your sleeve to code when required to Implement production ready features/fixes or perform prototype implementations to try out new features or products Meet with stake holders, customers, and other interested parties to brainstorm on ideas for new products and execute a hypothesis, build, learn loop to zero in on a solution that makes business sense Always be on lookout for places where we can improve to deliver value to customers in the most efficient and repeatable manner better automation of manual tasks, adopting a different development methodology, bringing in new tools, etc. Experience in taking B2B products from ideation to successful offerings in the market Experience in creating documented processes to allow the team to perform its mission in a reliable and efficient manner Strong verbal and written communication skills, a team-player able to take initiative as well as follow a plan and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team Knowledge of use cases related to asset integrity management in fossil power plants and refineries is a big plus

Education

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields with strong software development background
