Program Director, IT

Background Our Enterprise Technology Strategyhas the vision for a bold, forward-looking technology capability that is key to driving innovation and growth. Senior program management is required to lead our technology growth initiatives and investments. Delivery of these technology programs are critical achieve the value and outcomes expected by our customers. What IT Program & Project Management contributes to Cardinal Health IT Program & Project Management is responsible for playing a key/critical role in realizing business value through the application of project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet project objectives.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the project management initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing processes.
- Monitors performance and recommends scope, schedule, cost or resource adjustments - connects short-term demands to long-term implications, in alignment with the supporting business case.
- Prioritizes multiple tasks while meeting deadlines - communicates project status (health, forecast, issues, risks, etc.) to stakeholders in an open and honest fashion.
- Effectively balances competing project constraints including but not limited to scope, quality, schedule, funding, budget, resources, and risk, to manage project success.
- Connects project objectives to broader organizational goals.
- Provides input to contracts, reviews contracts to ensure completeness of scope and appropriate accountability based on role and/or responsibility.
- Negotiates with stakeholders to obtain the resources necessary for successful project execution. Accountabilities
- Drive definition and delivery of strategic programs and complex projects under both waterfall and agile, including scaled agile approaches
- Responsible for playing a critical role in realizing business value through the application of best practices in project management and application delivery knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to meet program objectives
- Provide oversight/governance of IT programs and projects and drive execution to ensure on time, on budget and quality delivery
- Own active governance of programs and projects. Drive resolution related to critical escalations.
- Accountable for the visibility and escalation of issues related to budget, risk management, schedule and scope
- Serve as an influential and effective critic to all key stakeholders from inception of project/program to delivery. Ensure solutions are complete and drive accountability.

- Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Qualifications

- Bachelors and Advanced Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- 12+ years experience in related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
- Deep experience managing large, complexe.
CommercePrograms, consisting of multiple complex, inter-related projects inclusive of technology, business process and OCM components.
- Track record of financial management of complex, multi-yearprograms
- Experience managingprograms using Agile and DevSecOps deployment methodologies
- Experience leadingprograms with a focus on micro-services, AP
Is and headless commerce
- Experience leading efforts leveraging specific technologies including Angular, Java, Commerce, AEM What is expected of you and others at this level
- Utilizes broad and deep knowledge to develop innovative new business practices, policies and procedures
- Contributes to the development of department strategy
- Works on or may lead highly complex projects of large scope
- Projects are typically cross-functional and have significant and long-term impact
- Provides solutions which set precedent
- Negotiates complex or risky technical business issues on behalf of the company
- Independently defines project establishes budgets identifies participants and mitigates risk
- Consults with management to determine project objectives with long-term implications
