Directs, leads, plans and administers the operational and administrative activities of a cost center and / or several systems analysis/programming sections. Fundamental Components
* Experience in full stack development, frameworks, unit testing frameworks. Work with product managers and the scrum team to effectively translate the business requirements in SQL, SAS, Node. JS/React/Angular/JavaScript. Demonstrates ability to remove problems and overcome roadblocks during the project. The candidate should also have good verbal and written communication skills. Works with cross-function team, using agile practices, writes, debugs and delivers code. Produces solid, thoroughly tested features. Analyzes current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions. Experiments with available tools and advises in order to resolve optimal solution given the requirements dictated by the model/use case. Leads teams that provide systems design, development and maintenance across multiple platforms, technologies and tools. Develops plans for technical solutions to meet the business needs of the corporation, through business areas, groups or divisions and implements those solutions with timely and cost justified products. Makes decisions that may have a major impact on the Organization and Company. Provides overall direction and guidance to assigned application managers. Reviews and evaluates work of subordinate staff and prepares performance reports. Prepares and communicates activity and progress reports across systems within span of control. Functions as central technical contact for portfolio of applications. Develops and supervises long range information technology plans and policies consistent with the strategic objectives and plans of the business units and the enterprise technology strategy. Handles the selection, evaluation, contracting, and integration of externally available application software to deliver business system solutions. Selects and builds strong functional teams through formal training, diverse assignments, coaching, mentoring, and other development techniques. Manages and is responsible for development of IT project cost estimates, benefits, and assessment of potential risks. Handles budgets, plans and expenses; has cost center responsibilities. Determines and communicates hire, fire, compensation, and performance decisions. Enforces the utilization of accepted methodology & tools in a focused manner. Proactively builds & maintains external & internal key relationships. Responsible for ensuring the vendor teams are adhering to Aetna and individual application standards. Background Experience10+ years work experience in systems analysis and application program development, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
* 10+ total years of software development.
* Experience in React and/ or Angular (React is preferred) /Redux/Node.
JS with JavaScript/ CSS/ HTML, Node.
JS and/ or Java software development experience, hands-on experience with APIs, microservices
* Experience using container based technologies. Solid grasp of big data technologies is desired. Several years of experience delivery solutions through an Agile delivery methodology.
* Ability to understand sophisticated systems and tackle challenging analytical problems. Ability to use multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sourceWhat are we looking for in our colleagues?
