Applications Development Manager

A financial firm is seeking an Applications Development Manager to join their team in Irving, TX. This is an application engineering leadership role responsible for the application support for a suite of middleware services. The successful candidate will be responsible to work directly with multiple technology to own and manage support activities for this middleware space. This role will also provide technical leadership, oversight and guidance to internal cloud development teams within North America. The successful candidate will be technically proficient in supported technologies and be able to perform hands-on work. Candidates must have excellent platform instincts and communication skills coupled with a passion for business technology to deliver a world-class user experience. Candidates should have varied IT-related experience, including successful IT implementation or design experience, as well as strong data-driven analytical skills and the ability to thrive within ambiguity. Experience with leading through influence and a demonstrated, proven track record of ownership and accountability is key. Ideal candidates will have the ability to think strategically and tactically while providing outstanding customer-centric insight. They will have an expansive background in application development with at least 10 years demonstrated work experience, great analytical skills, strong business judgment, superb communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to resolve conflicts and set priorities. The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing service delivery objectives for North America middleware operations. Objectives of the Role Manage all aspects of application support activities of North America middleware services Provide hands on technical leadership on applications issues primarily in Cloud based services Ownership attitude towards issues to work with multiple partners and drive resolution Ability to detect recurring failure patterns and proactively propose and drive solutions for improvement Demonstrated experience managing multiple work streams, building strong relationships with multiple teams Develop and implement best-in-class processes, metrics and practices Set direction and vision for the team, manage expectations of demanding clients Strongly influence external teams for any dependencies Work independently Evolve, champion, and enforce Agile operating principles and processes Ability to handle pressure and provide assistance during system outages

Responsibilities

Partner continuously with technical stakeholders to achieve successful software deployments in a multi-tiered environment Manage resources and related capacitydemand Manage production support escalations Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions Maintain system hygiene and adhere to complianceregulatory processes Develop strong, trust-based relationships with critical internal and external partners and challenge them to continuously improve

Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science or related fields At least 10 years of relevant work experience primarily Java technologies. Management experience good to have Strong analytical and technical knowledge in J2EE technologies, Spring Boot, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, ESB, Angular JS, Oracle, SQL Familiarity with APImicroservices, IaaS, PaaS environments is desired Familiarity with monitoring tools AppDynamics, Splunk is desired Working knowledge of Agile software development lifecycle, CICD - continuous integration, continuous delivery techniques Ability to take ownership of issues and drive resolution Flexible, proactive, and self-motivated with a proven ability to independently analyze and lead the team Ability to manage multiple priorities and switch gears, manage ambiguity and excel in troubleshooting techniques Ability to communicate and influence effectively with internal as well as external groups at varying levels of business and technical knowledge Leadership abilities to drive solutions and deliver with high quality, and have the vision to set the architectural direction Familiarity of the banking industry
