The Email Developer will be part of the Design System team. This individuals primary responsibility will be developing responsive emails to support customer communications. In addition to supporting the email development process, the individual will have opportunities to contribute to the Duke Energy design system.


Develop responsive emails supporting marketing campaigns and other customer communications. Collaborate with marketing, designers, copywriters, project managers and other developers to produce high quality deliverables and meet deadlines. Participate in development of the design system including maintaining and enhancing the documentation website and building and enhancing components.

Required Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience with front end development technologies. Keen attention to detail. Accuracy is highly important in this role. Self-organized. Individual will need to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Self-motivated, eager to learn and able provide constructive feedback to others. Strong communication skills. Strong design sense. Understands how to create user friendly and aesthetically pleasing UI.Experience with mobile-first development. Experience with Git. Comfort with basic to intermediate command line actions. Familiarity with web standards, browser compatibility issues, web performance optimization and front-end development best practices. Understand the importance of, and experience with, web accessibility and ADA compliance. Ability to collaborate with the UX Design team and provide insightful design and UX insights. Desired


Expert in HTML5 and CSS
3. Advanced JavaScript/ES
6. Experience with React/Vue libraries and/or Angular framework. Experience with test-driven development. Experience working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL a plus. Experience with SASS or other CSS preprocessors. Experience working in an Agile environment. Experience with static site generators Gatsby, Next.js, Nuxt.js. Experience with command-line build tools Webpack, Gulp, Grunt. Experience working with design systems.
