OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Act as key advisory member of the Prototyping leadership team while providing primary development and architecture domain expertise.
  • Responsibility for the overall design & structure of the IT systems and oversee programs to ensure the proper architecture is implemented and the IT framework operates properly.
  • Define strategic vision through the integration of IT architecture solutions.
  • As a technical leader, you combine design and architecture knowledge with development capability (i.e. comfortable on the whiteboard and also on the keyboard).

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive to One Takeda through architecture simplification, application rationalization, and reduced cost in order to achieve synergies and business value.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of features of world class web applications.
  • Providing technical leadership and support to the software development teams overseeing development and implementation.
  • Represent assigned functional areas in all forums while driving alignment to central standards and guidelines.
  • Lead the development of key standards, guidance and reference architectures.
  • Define complex architectural strategy and direction of multiple and diverse application/data/network disciplines on a variety of multi-platform systems.
  • Provide high level mentoring to other Technical Architects by educating them on complex architecture approaches across their respective business domains.
  • Create and present technical information in order to influence and gain the understanding of business as well as technical roles across the organization.
  • Lead the creation of technical design documents and communication of the architectural vision across functional areas.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field; or relevant work experience
  • Proven track record of independently delivering full stack components and features
  • Extensive experience demonstrating a high degree of proficiency in designing and developing complex, high-quality solutions
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, Java
    Script, or other similar languages.
  • Experience with SQL, RESTful APIs, HTML, Java
    Script, and CSS; familiarity with modern MVC frameworks such as Rails, Django, or Express; familiarity with modern UI frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue; AWS, CI/CD, ES6 are pluses.
  • Enjoy being a generalist working on both the frontend, backend, and anything it takes to solve problems and delight users both internally and externally.
  • Related pharmaceutical or pharmaceutical consulting work
  • An ability to quickly communicate complex ideas around a technical topic, ideally on the fly at a whiteboard.
  • Skill and comfort working in a rapidly moving startup environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
  • Experience working in a business partnering or consulting/advisory role at a mid-to-senior executive level
  • Technical experience in related technologies
  • Solution-oriented enabler mindset
  • Seasoned developer or technical lead with deep insight into newest technologies and trends
  • Can make architecture decisions at a team and product level
  • Experience in agile development, with specific architect experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills with ability to align organization on complex technical decisions
