Senior Staff Front-End Engineer

At Riskalyze, we're on a mission to empower the world to invest fearlessly. Investing feels broken for the average person, and subjective risk semantics like "aggressive" and "moderately conservative" don't help. We believe that when advisors align the world’s investments with each investor’s Risk Number, anyone can invest fearlessly. We treat our teammates well and take our values ( seriously. We also love to share the work we’re doing with the broader development community. We’re ecstatic to see Riskalyzers speaking at meetups and writing for our Engineering Blog ( The Product The Trading team at Riskalyze is focused on building a product we call Autopilot Trading
- our most modern product line where we're focused on automating portfolio management for billions of dollars in investor assets. Riskalyze’s core product exists to help financial advisors make educated decisions about how much risk their clients should take in the financial markets. Over 20,000 financial advisors use Riskalyze in their offices with clients every day, but with Autopilot, our value proposition goes beyond helping advisors and clients invest intelligently. By integrating our trading system into a network of the largest U.S. custodian banks, financial advisors can implement their portfolio decisions with as little toil and friction as possible. And we do it all with a product that both looks and feels modern and elegant. The Team The scale of the Autopilot platform is growing rapidly. We have tons of data flowing through our systems daily and the nature of our work requires that we be able to process that data quickly and reliably as well as render relevant information to our customers in a way that is consistent and performant. As we continue to scale up, these issues only become more important. If that challenge invigorates you, and you’re an experienced software developer who’s passionate about building scalable and robust software, then we want to hear from you. We have a host of great benefits, which you can read below, but we strongly believe that the biggest benefit is coming to work every morning and getting to share your day with people who are smart, driven, and genuinely care about their work. Here are a few other things we expect out of members of our team: You enjoy considering many different viewpoints before diving into a new project, and can partner with Product Managers, other Engineering leaders, and teammates located across the country to deliver great things to the advisors we serve. You’re able to work in an Agile environment and actively want to contribute to making our processes better as we learn and iterate. You respect the people you work with and expect the same in return. You’re eager to keep pushing a project forward after it’s code-complete, because you know that QA, beta testing, and shipping well are all just as important as the final PR. You can practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems. You’re comfortable in a Github-centric continuous deployment environment, and are eager to jump into code reviews and pair programming sessions. You find and foster opportunities to help engineers around you with less (or different) experience than you. You lead your peers by influence and not by command. You have a curiosity for emerging technologies and can quickly evaluate and adapt to new ones.

We never want to miss the opportunity to work with great engineers who didn’t apply because they didn’t check one thing on a long list, but we also want to be transparent and give applicants a window into the kinds of processes and technologies they will be working with. You'll be a great addition to the Trading Team if you are an experienced (3+ years) front-end or front-end focused full-stack developer who identifies with the following qualities: Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities Exhibit long-term technical planning and architectural skills Fluency with modern UI libraries & frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue Fundamental understanding of how Java
