Principal Software Engineer

Description

As a Principal Software Engineer, youll be leading the software development efforts of teams creating and supporting the next generation of web and mobile banking systems at Citizens Bank. Primary responsibilities include: Taking responsibility for the development, testing strategy, maintenance, and operational aspects of a full stack team or teams of software engineers.
Working closely with the Product Owners and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into achievable, actionable plans that guide development.
Defining software standards, processes, and patterns that maximize the team and organizations delivery of features to our customers.
Developing secure, robust, and rich APIs powering our mobile and web banking experiences and third party integrations.
Developing tools and automated solutions to enhance software development practices.
Collaborating with team leads, designers, architects, and product owners to ensure development aligns with business expectations.
Ensuring development meets quality standards and can be supported in a production environment Qualifications.
Required Skills/Experience: 6+ years of software development experience.
Experience as a team lead, or tech lead.
Experience leading the delivery of features into a production environment.
Experience leading design / whiteboarding sessions.
Experience working on an Agile team and translating business requirements into technical plans.
Strong knowledge of OOP and REST design principles.
Strong relational database experience.
Experience with full stack frameworks like Node.jsExperience developing cloud and container based micro-service applications.
Experience developing unit and integration tests alongside functional code.
Ability to own the delivery of features into production Preferred Skills/Experience: Financial Services / Banking industry experience Experience developing and supporting consumer facing software systems in a production environment Languages and Frameworks Java, JEE, Spring Frameworks, Groovy.
Javascript, Node, Angular, Typescript.
Python Tools Version Control: Git, Bitbucket, SVNBuild and Deploy: Jenkins, Maven, npm, yarn.
Observability: AppDynamics, Splunk, Datadog.
Testing: Postman.
Others: Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence.
Containers/Virtualization: Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant Platforms Cloud Services:
