Technical Specialist -- Position Sensors for Electric Machines

The Technical Specialist -
- Position Sensors for Electric Machines is responsible for the E-Motors' Position Sensor Design, Manufacturing, and Assembly for automotive electrification applications. This role includes the development of the Position Sensor design and specification of different E-Motors for all types of Electrified Propulsion (LV/HV for MHEVs, PHEVs, and BEVs). Also, this role will provide technical assistance to other E-Motor Design Aspects. The Technical Specialist -
- Position Sensors for Electric Machines will coordinate prototype build and dyno test activities. The Technical Specialist -
- Position Sensors for Electric Machines will stay abreast of new E-Motors technology including Benchmarking and Lead the Position Sensors Design and Assembly activities and development. The Technical Specialist -
- Position Sensors for Electric Machines will participate in E-Motors technical roadmap and develop different position estimation/measurement concepts of E-Motors Systems to meet vehicle requirements.

Basic Qualifications

* Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering from an ABET accredited university
* Minimum of 5 years of Position Sensors Design and Assembly for traction E-Motors
* Experience in Designing, Manufacturing and Assembly of different Position Sensors topology for traction E-Motors (e.g., Resolver, Eddy
- Current, GME, AMR, etc.)
* Experience with Rotors' Angular Position Principles and Analysis (Finite Element Analysis, Simulation, and Modeling)
* Experience of E-Motors' Electromagnetic, Mechanical, Thermal, and NVH Analysis and Testing
* Experience in E-Motors Control and Calibration, including R2D chis, Signal Processing, Angle Tracking Observer, etc.
* Experience in Position Sensors Design for Manufacturing and Position Sensors Design for Assembly (DFMEA, PFEMA, DRBTR, DRBFM, etc.)
* Experience in E-Motors prototyping and production
* Extensive Position Sensors application expertise and significant automotive knowledge base including quality and supply chain
* Materials knowledge in Position Sensors sub-components
* Knowledge of Position Sensors / E-Motor design principles, operation, testing, and reliability
* Knowledge of Position Sensors' Functional Safety (ASIL-C and ASIL-D)
* Knowledge of Position Sensors' Noise Immune Strategies
* Knowledge of different E-Motor technologies (Flexible to work with various pole pair E-Motors); IPM, IM, Axial flux, SRM* Knowledgeable in regard to GD&T
* As appropriate, owns the test-to-learn process, data collection, and analysis of E-Motors' Mechanical Structure and Stresses results
* Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and with others.

Preferred Qualifications

* PhD degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Equivalent Engineering from an ABET accredited university
* Familiarity with automotive product development processes and project management
* Excellent problem solving techniques and analytical ability
* Excellent leadership skills
* Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
* Knowledgeable in use of Team Center with experience in NX in a production release environment
