Hadoop Developer

Note This role does require employees on-site January 2021. Due to the nature of this role, there are no opportunities for visa sponsorship. This is a contract to hire.
AU is seeking a Hadoop Developer for a client in the Kansas City area. The Hadoop Engineer plays a vital role in the effective management of integration programs that support the organization and client demands. This position will use a variety of technologies tools that develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems. This position is responsible for data and system integrations. Responsibilities bull Maintain existing products through enhancements, bug fixes, and ongoing maintenance. bull Package and test applications in accordance with standards and procedures. bull Demonstrates familiarity with documentation standards, and reviews existing documentation for all products and technology areas. bull Participating in in-house training sessions. bull Self-study of documentation, including Programming Standards, technical documentation and user Manuals. bull Work with Release and Configuration management to develop and improve deployment procedures. bull Reports on project status, schedule, open issues, resolutions, and completion. bull Work with product, quality assurance and technical operations to release code to Production. Participate in daily scrum meetings. bull Keep abreast of the current technologies and technological trends. Learn and prototype new technologies, and recommend their use in company products. bull Make recommendations on how to rewrite, modify, and redesign legacy applications based on analysis. bull Introduce and implement new ideas and tools geared to create better software that runs optimally in Production. bull Document and communicate software designs of complex systems. bull Reduce andor prevent production defects based on the continuous root cause analysis and process improvement. bull Ensures adherence to coding standards for self as well as team. Requirements bull Bachelorrsquos degree in Computer Science or related field bull 3+ yearsrsquo experience implementing as a Developer bull Expert-level SQL required bull Experience with version control tools like Git, SVN or Team Foundation Server (TFS) bull Experience with reporting tools like SSRS (Microsoft Reporting Services), Tableau bull Experience with MVC design principles bull Experience with Object Oriented programming bull Experience with web services development bull Experience with Analytical andor BI concepts bull Must have HDFS and related technology experience, including Python, Pig, Hawq, PostgreSQL, JSON, and Java bull Some experience with messaging systems like MQ or MSMQ. bull Some experience with JavaScript frameworks like Node JS, Google Angular bull Excellent written and verbal communication skills. bull Effective decision-making and critical thinking skills for problem identification and solution recommendation. bull Ability to be flexible, set priorities and meet deadlines in a changing environment for self and team. bull Ability to work independently and as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and using good business judgment. Preferred bull Microsoft Visual Studio C Sharp (C) bull Pivotal HDFS experience
