Full Stack Developer

Software Engineer

Location: Redmond WA6 months contract to hire
Position Purpose: The Software Engineer will have responsibility to contribute toward implementation of a large development effort with the new Finance system Workday's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) system.
A disperse set of systems that will need to be updated to handle and address the changing needs of the finance process across the organization. This position will work closely with business and technical teams to ensure that correct functionality is developed and allows the university to continue financial operations. This position will need to translate Finance requirements into Workday functionality. The Software Engineer will develop solutions using a standard quality driven approach. The position will escalate gaps or trade-offs in designs across technical and non-technical audiences using effective communication skills. The Software Engineer will participate in recommending the most effective and efficient solution design over the course of the project implementation. This position also collaborates with peers and others to improve practices, processes, and tools for software development, testing, and versioning, continuous integration, automated release and deployment of service changes, and operations and monitoring. Qualifications:5+ years of experience performing progressively more complex and responsible tasks involving development and operations of software applications and services
Experience with Web application development in a modern programming language
Experience within a software development lifecycle
Experience with .Net and/or .Net Core
Familiar with source code management and tools like GitHubFamiliar with secure design and coding practices
Familiar with Linux
Familiar with developing frontend web applications using Java
Script frameworks like Angular or React
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervisionAn effective team player who enjoys collaborationPLUS:
Familiar with DevOps practices
Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, and/or Azure
Familiar with Docker containers and Kubernetes
Familiar with consuming and/or implementing RESTful APIsFamiliar with continuous integration tools like Travis CIKnowledge of scalable and reliable software systems
Knowledge of server configuration and build automation tools like Ansible
Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch
Knowledge of messaging services like Amazon SNS/SQSKnowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts and related technologies like TLS and load balancers
Knowledge of software test methodologies and automation tools
Knowledge of open source software development
Experience in a major research University setting
