Job Description

Compensation (Range): $50-$60/ hour

This is a contract position; however, it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Job Responsibilities

Your specific duties as a Data Scientist will include:

  • In this role, you will support the development of AI/ML and/or optimization models by assembling data from a variety of sources as a member of the Strategy & Enterprise Analytics team in Global Data, Insight & Analytics (GDI&A).
  • The developed models and insights obtained from data analytics will provide decision support to other organizations, such as Sustainability, Environment & Safety Engineering (SE&SE), General Auditors Office (GAO), Finance, Office of the General Counsel (OGC), and Human Resources (HR).
  • Lead the project through all the stages
    - Problem Formulation, Data Management, Solution Development, Solution Deployment and Ongoing Management.
  • Work with available GDI&A tools and technologies to develop robust models based on approved use cases to provide insights to internal customers.
  • Work with business partners using a collaborative, agile approach to develop solutions rapidly that add value and are centered around the user experience.
  • Work with business partners to ensure that the project delivers the agreed upon business benefits.
  • Interact with GDI&A DataTech Partners to provide specifications for developing architecture and user interfaces for analytics products.
  • Develop mathematical, analytical, optimization and/or AI/ML models to support evidence-based decision making.
  • Examine, interpret and report analytical results in both written reports and in oral presentations to varied audiences.

Job Requirements

As a Data Scientist you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • 1+ years of experience in mathematical programming, data mining, statistical analysis, and/or machine learning
    * Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Developed and implemented Machine Learning models
  • Ability to drive results and handle multiple projects within a given timeframe.
  • Well-organized, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision.
  • Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and innovative environment where problems are not always well-defined
  • 1+ years of experience with one or more of the following tools: Data Gathering skills/tools (e.g.
    SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Teradata, Alteryx, etc.) and/or Visualization skills/tools (e.g. QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau, WebFocus, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java, and R and using ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) tools
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating with business to develop strategies and innovations to solve complex business problems
  • 2+ years of experience in developing with Python or R.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing software applications with Java, C# or angular.
  • Master's Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or other related fields.
  • Ph. D. in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or other related fields.
